“The General” Whitetail Shed Antlers

    • Known as “The General”, one of the most widely recognized typical whitetail antlers in North American history.
      • Originally documented in Nebraska, circa 1959.
        • Recognized as the world-record typical whitetail set of shed antlers for over 25 years.
          • Subsequently sold in a private transaction valued at $1 million.
            • Currently preserved and displayed as a historical artifact, independent of record-book status.
              • Owned as part of the Original by God (OG) collection, focused on stewardship, preservation, and education.

              The biggest bucks taken in the last couple years will be on display for your eyes only. This is the contest all Iowa Hunters are striving to win. Many different categories to compete in including Firearm, Bow, Muzzleloader, Historical, Youth, Crossbow and Ladies categories, all broken into Typical and Non-Typical divisions! If you took a trophy whitetail in the past two years, we certainly encourage you to enter! There is a historical division for bucks taken before Fall 2024 season. Your $20 Big Buck Contest entry fee includes official Boone & Crockett or Pope & Young measuring of your trophy and a chance to win a CVA Muzzleloader, Grizzly 45 cooler, Xpedition Bow and More!!

              Each year we invite every Boone & Crockett whitetail and hunter that has been entered in our Big Buck Contest to be part of the Iowa Whitetail Hall of Fame. This creates an overwhelming wall of world class Iowa whitetails.

              Hundreds of monster sheds from all across whitetail country will be on display for the weekend in this great contest sponsored by the North American Shed Hunters Club! Whitetail sheds can be brought in and entered into our contest for awards and prizes creating a spectacular display showcasing the great finds of shed hunters. A fitting display for a pastime which is so quickly growing in popularity. See and all-new display of world class sheds!

              Sign up to shoot the Classic 300 Tournament!

              The Mid-Iowa Archers and the Iowa Deer Classic are excited to bring you this 3-day Vegas-Style 300 Round Tournament to be held in Hall A of the Iowa Events Center.
              Proceeds will benefit the Mid Iowa Archers.
              Amateur Tournament Entry Fee is only $10, and cubs (kids age 8-11) are only $5. Professional shooter Entry Fee is $50 with an 80% payback!
              Trophies awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in 12 Divisions!
              Entries entered to win great prizes.

              Shoot the Raised at Full Draw 3D Shoot!
              Bowhunter 3D Shoot Challenge is a simulated bowhunting environment for archers of all proficiency levels. The format is shooter friendly with great prize chances for all shooters.
